Navar Forest Park is administered by the Department of Agriculture
and Rural Development's Forest Service. Within the forest area there is a superb 11.2 km scenic
drive, cliff-top viewpoint and a touring caravan site. There are three lakes open to Department permit
holders – Achork, Glencreawan and Meenameen. Fishing is not permitted in the fourth lake (Lough Navar).
Achork and Meenamen contain good stocks of brown trout supplemented by 7500 takeable brown trout. Fish
respond well to nymphs and small dark patterned wet or dry flies. Arguably the most attractive DCAL
fishery.
These lakes are considered ideal for family outings as there is beautiful scenery,
picnic areas and forest walks. Car-parks are at the water’s edge at Glencreawan and Meenameen and alongside
the adjacent forest road at Achork
How to get there
From Enniskillen by A46 and B81 through Derrygonnelly 14.5 km following the forestry
signposts (scenic drive).
From Belleek follow the forest drive signs from the village. Anglers are liable
for the normal charge for cars using the forest drive
