Stocked Brown Trout Fishery
This is in a forest setting and is the largest of the Woodburn waters. Access and parking has been considerably improved. The water produces some large trout. There is also good Perch fishing on the worm. Wading is permitted but care should be taken as this can be dangerous when the water is at certain levels. Test netting in 2005 indicated that there is a good stock of overwintered brown trout in the lough in excellent condition averaging 0.5 to 1 kg. Anglers must use the official entrances and on no account trespass on adjoining lands or park their cars in such a way at to obstruct roadways or gate entrances.
