Lough Brickland, alongside the main Belfast-Dublin Road, is stocked with 3000 takeable brown and rainbow trout.
The shore is mostly firm and safe for wading but the north and south tips should be avoided. A surfaced path is provided along the west shore.
How to get there
From Belfast – M1 to Lisburn (Sprucefield roundabout) then the A1 towards Newry for 45 km. The lough is on the left.
From Armagh – Take the A51 to Tandragee, the A27 to Scarva and B3 to Loughbrickland, joining the A1 in Loughbrickland village.
From Lurgan – Take the A26 to Banbridge and head south towards Newry by the A1. From Newry – North by the A1 towards Banbridge for 16 km.
