Frequently Asked Questions - River Bush

This page has been created as a result of the emails we have been receiving, seeking information on Angling in Northern Ireland. If you have a question/query please forward it to dcalangling@dcalni.gov.uk.
What documentation do I require to fish the special stretches of the River Bush?
A River Bush day ticket and an FCB Game rod licence are required to fish the Dundarave, Town, New and Leap stretches of the River Bush. Note that to fish the unrestricted stretch you require a DCAL Game permit and an FCB Game rod licence.

Where can I get further information on angling on the different stretches of the River Bush?
Information is available from the section of this web site under Fishing Locations Northern Ireland. You can also obtain more information by contacting :-

Why are there two different prices for day tickets on the River Bush?
There is a special reduction in the price of any type of angling day ticket on the River Bush for anglers that have purchased any current DCAL Game Angling permit. Visiting anglers, fishing the R Bush on more than one occasion, may find it is cheaper to purchase a suitable DCAL permit to cover their holiday / visit as well. This will entitle them to purchase angling day tickets at the reduced price as well as providing free angling opportunities on other DCAL angling waters. As there are many combinations of licence/permit/day ticket anglers should carry out their own calculations based on their angling needs to see what approach offers best value for money.
