River Bush Salmon Fishing
Reserved Salmon Fishing
Situated close to the Giants Causeway on the North Antrim coast the River Bush offers excellent salmon fishing to visiting and local anglers. Ecological research studies into the life cycle of Atlantic salmon are carried out on the river and the research facilities and the hatchery are well worth a visit. When conditions are right salmon angling of the highest quality is available on 4 stretches of the river, the New, Town, Leap and Dundarave beats.
These beats give the best sport possible and cater for varying methods. Day Tickets are required to fish the four special angling beats which are all situated within walking distance of Bushmills town.
Anglers can purchase their River Bush Day Tickets by visiting the Angling Office at the River Bush Salmon Station during office hours or Purchase their River Bush Day Tickets Online.
The remainder of the upstream area of the River Bush can be fished with a DCAL Game Fishing permit. It offers reasonable salmon angling from July to the end of the season with good trout fishing available throughout most of the season.
An DCAL Game Rod licence is required along with your DCAL permit or day ticket to fish on all sections of the River Bush.
Rod licences and most types of Department permits may be obtained from appointed distributors throughout Northern Ireland and the names and addresses of local distributors are available under Permit Outlets or by contacting the Inland Fisheries Branch, Telephone: 028 90515119 or by e-mail to dcalangling@dcalni.gov.uk.
