Portna Canal Bream, Roach and Pike
The canal stretch is readily accessible and is a popular pike fishery. Pike, perch, roach, bream and eels are abundant. Fishing at Portna is restricted to the stretch below the locks. Upstream of the locks is inaccessible and dangerous due to the precipitous nature of the rocky banks.
How to get there
Portna - off the A54 Kilrea-Portglenone road 0.4 km out of Kilrea turn left for a short distance and left again to the canal area.
