Disabled Facilities

There is a smooth hardcore car park near a disabled fishing area. The area is accessible to wheelchairs via a short concrete path. Anglers should note that this is a reservoir where low water levels can at times make fishing inaccessible to disabled anglers.

The water is very popular and productive where juveniles can learn to fish and be in sight of adults at all times. Parking is close to the reservoir. Most of the water is not suitable for wading. Anglers must use official entrances and on no account trespass on adjoining lands or park their cars in such a way as to obstruct roadways or gate entrances.

How to get there

From Belfast Approach by the M5 and A2 towards Carrickfergus. As you go into Carrickfergus take the B58 towards Ballynure.The reservoir is to the left of the road after 6.5 km
